Silent No More is a worldwide movement where women and men share their personal testimonies about the reality of abortion and the healing that is possible in Christ. Over the years, I have spoken to thousands of people across Canada and the United States about my own experience and the mercy and hope I found through faith.
In this renewed role, I will:
Coordinate Silent No More witness events throughout British Columbia,
Share my testimony in parishes, schools, and public forums,
Provide referrals to post-abortion healing resources, and
Partner with Catholic parishes, pregnancy centres, and pro-life organizations.
This mission is close to my heart because I know firsthand the pain and silence so many carry after abortion. My desire is to break that silence so others may know they are not alone — there is truth, there is healing, and there is hope.
I am honored to serve as both an approved diocesan speaker and a member of the Catholic Speakers Organization, which allows me to connect with churches, schools, and organizations throughout the province.
📎 Resource for Parishes: I’ve also prepared a short bulletin announcement that can easily be added to parish newsletters. If your parish would like to share this resource, please feel free to reach out.
🙏 Thank you for your prayers and support as I step back into this important work. I look forward to collaborating with many of you to build a stronger culture of life here in British Columbia.

Today our Catholic family weeps. In Minneapolis, young children gathered with their classmates and teachers to begin the school year with the Holy Mass—a place of prayer, peace, and joy. Instead, violence broke through stained glass, and innocent lives were taken.
As Catholics, we know that when one member of the Body suffers, all suffer together (1 Cor. 12:26). We are not strangers bound only by geography—we are family in Christ. These children are our children. Their parents are our brothers and sisters. Their pain is our pain.
Mourning with Hope
It is natural to grieve deeply, to feel anger, confusion, and sorrow at such senseless violence. Yet our mourning is not without hope. These precious ones were taken from us while in prayer. They died in the house of God, at the foot of His altar. We can be confident that Christ Himself gathered them tenderly into His arms, saying: “Let the little children come to Me, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Mt. 19:14).
In this sense, we recognize them as martyrs of innocence, whose lives were ended for no reason other than the hatred and darkness present in the world. Heaven now receives them as saints. While the world may remember them as victims, we in the Church proclaim them as intercessors—holy souls who now stand before God’s throne and pray for us.
United in Prayer
Let us not forget: every Rosary prayed, every Mass offered, every tear shed in faith becomes part of the healing God brings to His people. We are called to lift up the families, the parish community, and all who are wounded in body and soul. We entrust them to Our Lady of Sorrows, who knows what it is to weep at the death of her innocent Son.
Called to Greater Love
In moments like these, we may feel powerless. But our response as Catholics must be to love more deeply—to cling more closely to Christ, to pray more earnestly for peace, and to support one another as family. Evil will never have the final word. The Cross looked like defeat, but it was the place of victory. So too in this tragedy, Christ promises resurrection.
Closing Prayer
Eternal Father, we entrust to You the souls of the children who died in Your house. Receive them into the joy of heaven, and let their prayers strengthen the Church on earth. Console their families, heal the wounded, and deepen our unity as Your family. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Our family mourns, but we do not mourn alone. And we do not mourn without hope.

On June 30, 2025, the Elizabeth Bagshaw Clinic in Vancouver—the very clinic where I had my abortion—closed its doors for good.
When I saw the announcement, I felt a wave of emotion. For decades, this clinic was one of the busiest abortion facilities in British Columbia. But now it’s gone.
As someone who has lived through the pain of abortion and found healing, I can’t help but ask: What does this really mean for women, for families, and for our culture?
A Sign of Changing Hearts?
I want to believe this is a sign of hope. Maybe, just maybe, people are beginning to understand the deep and lasting wounds abortion leaves behind—not just for women, but for men, families, and society as a whole.
Post-abortive women and men are speaking out more than ever, sharing their stories of regret, loss, and redemption. The truth about abortion’s emotional, physical, and spiritual consequences can only stay hidden for so long. Could this be the beginning of hearts changing?
Or Just a Shift in Strategy?
But we have to be honest:
The abortion pill is now widely available. Women can get it from family doctors or even by mail. Hospitals across BC provide abortions as part of “routine care.” The clinic itself cited funding issues and a shift toward a centralized provincial healthcare model as reasons for closing.
So is this really a cultural shift toward life—or is abortion simply being pushed deeper into the medical system, out of sight but not gone?
The Real Work Ahead
Yes, I rejoice that this clinic has closed. But the real victory won’t come through closures alone.
It will come when:
✅ Women in crisis feel supported and loved enough to choose life
✅ Men take responsibility and stand up for their children
✅ Our culture no longer sees abortion as a solution, but as unthinkable
The true battle is for hearts and minds. Every time a woman chooses life, every time a post-abortive parent finds healing, God wins another victory.
Hope for the Future
I am living proof that God’s mercy can redeem even the deepest wounds. My healing journey is why I speak out—so no woman feels as alone as I did walking into that clinic years ago.
The Elizabeth Bagshaw Clinic may have closed, but the work isn’t finished. Our calling is clear: keep speaking truth, keep offering hope, and keep building a culture where every life is valued.
This year’s theme, “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made in His Image,” is close to my heart. I’ll be sharing my testimony of healing after abortion, speaking on God’s mercy and the hope that every life—born and unborn—deserves.

Did you know that the chemicals used in abortion pills—particularly mifepristone—could be making their way into our water supply? As the use of chemical abortions skyrockets, so does the risk of these drugs entering wastewater systems, eventually contaminating rivers, lakes, and even tap water.
This is more than just a pro-life issue—it’s a public health concern. Mifepristone is designed to disrupt pregnancy by blocking progesterone, a vital hormone for sustaining life. What impact could these hormone-blocking chemicals have on the environment, wildlife, and, ultimately, us? No one is asking these questions loudly enough.
This is yet another reminder of how abortion doesn’t just affect a mother and her unborn child. It leaves physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences—and now, potentially, environmental ones as well.
As pro-lifers, we must not only speak out about the injustice of abortion but also raise awareness about these hidden dangers. It’s time to demand transparency, research, and accountability. Our health, our families, and our communities deserve better than chemical pollution in the name of “choice.”
A stunning development just unfolded in a U.S. courtroom—and it wasn’t driven by pro‑life attorneys.
In a July 10, 2025 ruling, U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante issued a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking former President Trump’s Executive Order 14160, which aimed to abolish birthright citizenship for children born to non‑citizens. The legal challenge—filed as a class-action by the ACLU—asserted that unborn children of non-citizens are protected under the Constitution. In effect, they argued that denying citizenship at birth would irreparably harm both pregnant immigrants and their unborn babies.
Judge Laplante: “Not a Close Call”
Judge Laplante emphasized the stakes:
“The preliminary injunction is just not a close call to the court. The deprivation of U.S. citizenship and an abrupt change of policy that was longstanding … that’s irreparable harm.”
He underscored the importance of citizenship:
“That’s irreparable harm, citizenship alone,” he told the court. “It is the greatest privilege that exists in the world.”
His order certified a class of all current and unborn children affected by the executive order and halted implementation indefinitely—pending appeal.
Legal Irony: ACLU on the Side of the Unborn
The ACLU—the vanguard of reproductive rights—filed the lawsuit. Cody Wofsy, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, celebrated Laplante’s ruling as a major win:
“This is going to protect every single child throughout the country from this lawless, unconstitutional, cruel executive order.”
“This attempt to deny babies their citizenship is as illegal as it is inhumane, and we will keep fighting until we stop this order for good.”
The Legal Contradiction Exposed
For years, pro-life advocates have asserted that unborn children are fully human and deserving of legal protection. Often dismissed as “projections” or “ideological pet projects,” these beliefs were suddenly echoed by pro-abortion legal strategists—albeit in a different legal context.
If unborn children matter enough in immigration law to be included in a federal class-action lawsuit, why are they still denied personhood under other laws?
This is not legal semantics. It’s a constitutional paradox—one that cannot be overlooked or brushed aside.
What This Means for Pro-Life Advocates
This court action signals a shift—and opportunity. The pro-life movement is not merely reactive; it’s prophetic. Now is the time for:
Legal action: File cases that demand recognition of unborn rights across every jurisdiction. Public education: Highlight this contradiction and ask: If the unborn count here, why not there? Legislative advocacy: Push for laws that embody what the court has effectively acknowledged.
A Turning Point in the Debate
Judge Laplante’s ruling did more than block an executive order—it cracked open an ideological lock. When the ACLU is forced to concede that “babies” have rights, the foundation of abortion jurisprudence trembles.
Lawsuits, legislatures, citizens—we are called now to build on this moment. Truth, when spoken in courtrooms and public squares, has profound power. Let’s use this power wisely.
For years, I lived with a secret I never thought I’d share.
The day I had an abortion in 2001 seemed like the end of a crisis—but it was only the beginning of a silent battle I fought within myself for years. What follows is the story I once vowed to keep hidden. Now, I share it so others know they are not alone, healing is possible, and God’s mercy is real.
A Childhood Rooted in Faith
I was born to Portuguese immigrant parents and raised in a devout Catholic home with a deep love for Our Lady of Fatima. As a teenager, I proudly held the title of Miss Osoyoos, representing my community across Western Canada and learning the art of public speaking through Toastmasters.
But beneath the surface of that polished exterior were wounds I didn’t yet understand.
The Wound I Tried to Bury
In 2001, I made the painful decision to have an abortion. The emotional, physical, and spiritual aftermath of that day haunted me for years. I tried to carry on with life, burying the truth, but the weight of regret was relentless. I thought I had forfeited my voice forever.
A Seed of Healing
It was at a work conference in Orlando that I first found the courage to share my story—with a woman named Jan who reminded me of Jesus’ love and mercy. That moment planted a seed of healing that eventually led me back to the Church, the sacraments, and my identity as a beloved daughter of God.
I named my daughter Grace, and I often say she was the one who led me home.
A Calling is Born
I walked into Abbotsford Right to Life in search of healing—and walked out with a calling. This was the beginning of my professional pro-life career.
I joined a small, dedicated team during a time of transformation. Together, we rebranded the organization into what is now known as Advokate Life & Education Services, which has since become Canada’s largest pro-life organization. I was hired specifically to help launch their new pregnancy care ministry—and that seed grew into the Hope for Women Crisis Pregnancy Centre, which now has three locations across British Columbia and is working toward expanding to more in the province.
Serving the Front Lines
As Client Care Manager, I was entrusted with building the foundation of client services. I trained and supervised volunteers, developed intake and support protocols, and offered compassionate, Christ-centered care to women in crisis. I provided post-abortion counseling, helped lead school presentations, and trained others to offer truth with compassion to those facing life-altering decisions.
Speaking Out Through Silent No More
Through the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, I began sharing my story publicly. I’ve spoken in classrooms, churches, university campuses, women’s retreats, and at national pro-life conferences—always with the goal of replacing silence with healing, and shame with mercy.
Each time I speak, I carry with me not only my own story, but the stories of the women I’ve served.
Ministry in the Okanagan
Even after relocating to the Okanagan in 2018, I remained a voice for life and healing—witnessing outside hospitals with my “I Regret My Abortion” sign and staying connected to the ministry through prayer and personal outreach.
In 2024, I returned to Advokate as a board member, helping to shape the direction of the ministry at a leadership level.
A Mission That Continues
I now travel across Canada and the U.S. as a Catholic Speaker, Post-Abortive Advocate, and Pro-Life Educator, offering talks and workshops rooted in personal testimony, frontline experience, and the unshakable truth of God’s mercy.
This isn’t just my story—it’s my mission.
A Spiritual Battle
My ministry has taught me that abortion is not just a social issue—it’s a spiritual battle. I’ve experienced firsthand how the enemy attacks women, families, friendships, and identity. During my most difficult seasons, God fought for me.
Through confession, the Eucharist, Divine Mercy, and the Novena to Mary, Undoer of Knots, I found restoration in my marriage, in my motherhood, and in my mission.
Where I Am Today
I now live in the Okanagan Valley with my husband and have two adult children. I serve on the board of Advokate Life & Education Services and have returned full-time to my ministry as a speaker and advocate.
My heart’s desire is to reach those still hurting, to equip others to speak for life, and to glorify the One who made beauty from ashes.
Invite Me to Speak
If you’re looking for a speaker who blends raw honesty with deep compassion—and who can help your audience understand both the reality of abortion and the hope of healing—I would be honored to serve your mission.

It has now been over 50 years since abortion became legal in Canada. A generation and a half has grown up under a system where preborn children have no legal protection, and where abortion is funded, normalized, and often unchallenged.
We’ve marched. We’ve prayed. We’ve legislated. We’ve picketed. And we’ve saved lives, praise God. But with every passing year, the mountain only seems to grow steeper, and the culture more entrenched.
If we’re honest, our movement has plateaued. Not for lack of passion, truth, or effort—but perhaps because we’ve been fighting with natural tools against a supernatural evil.
Abortion is not just a political issue or a personal tragedy. It is a spiritual battle, a direct assault on life, identity, and the image of God. And it is time we begin fighting it like one.
Grace Must Lead the Way
The most powerful force on earth is sanctifying grace. It is what makes the Church a beacon in the darkness. Yet, many pro-life organizations operate without it, not out of malice, but by omission.
When we forget the sacraments, when we ignore the spiritual dimensions of abortion, we risk becoming just another social movement. But we are more than that. We are a prophetic voice—a Church commissioned to proclaim the Gospel of Life, not just protect it legally.
We don’t just need more strategy. We need more sanctity.
Why Post-Abortive Voices Matter Now More Than Ever
I speak as someone who once chose abortion. I also speak as someone who found healing through the mercy of Christ and His Church.
There are countless women like me in our pews, in our schools, and on our sidewalks. Wounded, silenced, afraid to speak up for life because they believe their past disqualifies them.
The truth is post-abortive voices carry a rare authority. We can expose the lie because we once believed it. We can reach the broken because we were them. And when we speak from a place of healing and grace, we disarm the enemy in a way arguments never could.
The future of the pro-life movement depends on restoring these voices to the front lines not in shame, but in redemption.
A Call to Return
We need a renewed focus on spiritual preparation: confession, Eucharistic adoration, intercessory prayer, and deliverance. We need to call our leaders, speakers, and sidewalk teams to be in a state of grace. And we need to stop being afraid of sounding “too Catholic” in a culture that desperately needs the fullness of truth.
This is not about abandoning politics or public witness. It’s about reclaiming our identity and fighting with the weapons that heaven has given us.
God has already won the war. But He is asking us to show up for the battle.
